Manchester City 115 charges: Three Fans, Three Different Opinions

City Group is Dishonest: Football Fans Have Been Divided

Manchester City & their 115 Charges become one of the biggest talking points in modern football.

The 115 Charges that have been alleged against the club, by the Premier League, speak of fraud & sham contracts.

The case has raised questions about financial rules, fairness, and the influence of wealthy clubs.

However, not every supporter sees the situation in the same way.

To understand these different viewpoints, we interviewed three football fans and asked them about the charges, possible punishments, and whether other clubs might be doing something similar.

Their answers revealed three very different perspectives: one that is skeptical about the Premier League’s response,

Another that openly supports taking advantage of loopholes, and a third that urges everyone to wait for the evidence and final verdict.

Fan 1: Expecting Punishment, but Not Relegation

The first fan believes Manchester City’s 115 charges are not the only club searching for loopholes in football regulations.

In his view, every club has looked for ways around the rules, but City found a way that benefited them.

When asked what punishment City might receive, he predicted a transfer ban and points deductions.

However, he did not expect the consequences to be severe enough to cause relegation.

He also argued that titles should not be taken away unless a club has been involved in match-fixing, because the allegations against City mainly concern commercial and financial matters.

Furthermore, he believes the club’s enormous financial backing and global status could influence how the situation is handled.

He suggested that City might extend the case for as long as possible.

He also made a point about transfers: if City are penalized over deals involving other clubs, he feels those clubs should face consequences too.

Fan 2: If It Helps the Club, Do It

The second fan gave a much shorter, but more controversial, answer. He argued that every club should use financial loopholes if doing so benefits the team.

According to him, other clubs already engage in similar behavior (like the 115 charges), but their actions simply do not become public.

Although his response was brief, it raised a bigger question about competition in football.

If a club believes its rivals are bending the rules to gain an advantage, should it continue to follow every regulation strictly, or should it also search for ways to benefit?

His answer reflects a results-first attitude, where a club’s success is placed above concerns about financial regulations.

However, the claim that other clubs are doing the same remains his opinion, rather than proof of wrongdoing by those clubs.

Fan 3: Wait for the Verdict

The third interviewee, who supports Manchester City, offered a more detailed and cautious view.

He stressed that being charged is not the same as being found guilty.

He also pointed out that City have denied the 115 charges and have defended themselves throughout the process. For that reason, he believes it is important to wait for the final verdict before drawing conclusions.

At the same time, he made clear that supporting City does not mean excusing wrongdoing.

If the independent process finds that the club breached the rules, he believes it should accept responsibility and face the appropriate consequences.

His position combines support for his club with the idea that the process must be fair and based on evidence.

What Would Fair Punishment Look Like?

When asked how severely City should be punished if found guilty, the third fan said the consequences should be strong enough to discourage similar behavior, but also proportionate to the offences.

Since the allegations mainly concern financial reporting and Financial Fair Play regulations, he does not believe stripping titles would be the most suitable response.

Instead, he suggested a substantial financial penalty, potentially worth hundreds of millions of pounds, along with a transfer ban lasting multiple windows or seasons.

In his view, penalties should address the area where the rules were allegedly broken.

This, he argued, would punish the club while also sending a clear message about the importance of financial transparency.

Do Other Clubs Use Similar Loopholes?

The third fan also believes it is reasonable to think that some clubs look for loopholes or operate in grey areas of financial regulations.

Football is highly competitive, and teams are constantly trying to increase revenue, reduce costs, and gain an advantage.

He noted that clubs in different leagues have been investigated or sanctioned for financial irregularities.

This suggests that regulatory systems are not perfect. However, he warned against assuming that every successful club is involved in wrongdoing without evidence.

Instead, he called for stronger oversight and consistent enforcement, regardless of a club’s size or status.

After speaking to all three fans, it was clear that the case means different things to different supporters.

The first expects punishment but doubts Manchester City will be relegated. The second believes clubs should take advantage of loopholes if it helps them.

The third supports City while insisting that any proven breach must have consequences.

Ultimately, the interviews show that football is about more than what happens on the pitch.

Financial regulations, ownership, competition, and fairness all shape the modern game.

Until the final verdict is reached, debate will continue—and the outcome could influence how financial rules are enforced across the Premier League.
