Ross Taylor’s cricketing chapter as a player will reach a conclusion as the veteran Kiwi cricketer is playing his last match against The Netherlands at the Seddon Park in Hamilton.
The 38-year-old neglected to get a grip on his emotions when players from both the sides showed up at the middle for the pre-match customs.
Following the ceremonies, Martin Guptill was seen consoling the veteran cricketer. Ross Taylor neglected to set up a major score in his last excursion as he was bowled on 14 (16) by Logan van Beek.
In the mean time, both current and past cricketers from various countries recorded their great wishes to Taylor on retirement. New Zealand Cricket shared a video via social media, which included Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid among others.
“I just wanted to send this message across to congratulate you on a wonderful career with New Zealand, you have been a legend for New Zealand cricket and a great ambassador for the game. We have shared some amazing memories together. I will be watching and I am sure you will have that iconic smile on your face like you have had all these years,” said Virat Kohli.
