Following the conclusion of negotiations to sign Antony and Martin Dubravka, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag declared that the team will not recruit any other players before August 31 transfer deadline, while he anticipates Cristiano Ronaldo to stay.

On Tuesday, August 30, United and Ajax Amsterdam reached an agreement for the Brazilian winger Antony to join the team. According to British media, the transfer will cost an initial 80.75 million pounds ($93.78 million), plus an additional 4.25 million pounds in add-ons.

The club are also hoping to sign Newcastle United goalkeeper Dubravka on loan, with an option to make the deal permanent.

In the midst of heavy rumours about the 37-year-old striker’s future after British media stated the Portugal front wanted to quit United to play Champions League soccer, Ten Hag reaffirmed his optimism that Ronaldo will remain at the club.

“It is clear. We need quality players. You need more to cover all the games,” Ten Hag said when asked about Ronaldo’s future, adding that full back Aaron Wan-Bissaka will also stay after being linked with a move away.

Anthony Martial, who is injured, will not play against Leicester City on Thursday for United, which is currently 11th in the Premier League rankings. Victor Lindelof, a defender, will be evaluated after rejoining training.
