Argentina and France have faced off three times in World Cup matches. The most recent matchup took place in Russia in 2018 and France prevailed 4-3 in the round of 16.
The first two meetings were won by Argentina in 1930 and 1978.

Argentina is competing in their sixth World Cup final after placing second in 1930, 1990, and 2014 and winning in 1978 and 1986.

France is seeking to join Italy and Brazil as the only countries to have won two consecutive World Cups after becoming the first back-to-back finalists since Brazil in 2002
Kylian Mbappe has scored more goals than he did during the 2018 tournament, five in six games. In 13 World Cup games, the 23-year-old has nine goals.
