Cristiano Ronaldo has apologized after he seemed to knock a cell phone out of a fan’s hand following his side’s 1-0 loss at Everton on Saturday.
Video arose via social media of Ronaldo seeming to swipe his hand towards the ground as he strolled off the pitch and set out toward the passage at Goodison Park. Onlookers said the 37-year-old had taken a fan’s phone out of their hand and it crushed to the ground.

Ronaldo took to Instagram to apologize for the occurrence.
“It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game,” he wrote.
“I would like to apologise for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship,” he added.
The loss left United seventh in the Premier League standings and they face the possibility of not making it to the Champions League as they are six points behind fourth-set Tottenham Hotspur.
