The PA news agency has learned that the Football Association (FA) will look into Thomas Tuchel’s post-game remarks following Chelsea’s contentious 2-2 Premier League tie with Tottenham.
Angered that both of Spurs’ goals at Stamford Bridge stood, Tuchel suggested that Anthony Taylor not officiate another Chelsea game, according to DPA.
Temperaments erupted in west London on Sunday when Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and Tottenham manager Antonio Conte fought twice on the sidelines, resulting in two melees.
Both managers were disciplined at full time after a sour handshake between them led to additional fights after they had already been booked for the initial altercation.
Tuchel said that he will probably receive a fine after Sunday’s incident, and the FA has since moved to initiate an investigation.
Prior to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s response for Spurs, Kalidou Koulibaly volleyed home a corner kick from Marc Cucurella. Reece James scored to give Chelsea the lead once more in the dying moments, but Harry Kane scored with a nod in the sixth minute of second-half extra time.
Tuchel bemoaned the fact that both of Spurs’ goals were upheld, arguing Richarlison was in the wrong place at the wrong time for Hojbjerg’s shot after Chelsea had alleged a foul on Kai Havertz in the build-up.
The Blues were then incensed that Christian Romero did not receive a penalty for yanking Cucurella’s hair after a VAR review disallowed one.
