Kylian Mbappe has scored five goals in five games, surpassing his goal total from the 2018 World Cup, when France won the tournament. Mbappe, 23, has made 12 World Cup appearances and scored nine goals.
Since Brazil in 1998, France is the first defending champion to advance to the World Cup semifinals. They will try to become the first finalists to advance to consecutive finals since Brazil in 2002. Italy (1934 and 1938) (1934 and 1938).
Morocco
The first Arab or African nation to make it to the World Cup semifinals is Morocco. Walid Regragui’s team advanced to the knockout stages, making him the first Arab manager to do so.
At the competition, Morocco has yet to allow a goal from a rival player. In their four games, they only allowed one goal, which came in a 2-1 victory over Canada when Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd unintentionally tipped a cross past his own goalkeeper.
