PV Sindhu clinches her maiden Singapore Open title

PV Sindhu defeats Wang Zhi Yi 21-9, 11-21, 21-15 to win her maiden title in Singapore and third title in 2022 after wins in Korea Open and Swiss Open.

It took her just 12 minutes to wrap up the first game which included winning 13 back to back points. She serenely dominated the first game 21-9 against Wang Zhi Yi.

Wang Zhi anyway retaliated in great style to draw level as he acquired the second game. The decider began a nail-gnawing note before she acquired an important lead at the stretch. The Chinese looked to fightback however ultimately fell shot eventually.

PV Sindhu won her first Super 500 title of the year. Her first Super 500 or in addition to better since Basel 2019. Her coach Park Tae-Sang was a cheerful ma. One has to cherish the relation they have. Wang played a great match as well… in the end Sindhu was splendid in the decider.

The title win will be a big confidence booster for PV Sindhu, who will leading the Indian badminton squad at the Commonwealth Games, starting from July 28 in Birmingham.
