Pakistan were bowled out for 147 in Dubai, chasing 171 for victory, with Madushan taking four wickets and Hasaranga taking 3-27.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa hit an unbeaten 71 to help Sri Lanka recover from a 58-5 deficit after Pakistan put them in to bat.
Imagine this team being thrashed by Afghanistan in their first game. And just think about how this team will have to qualify for the next T20 World Cup.
The decline in Sri Lanka cricket began with some notable players retiring in 2015, followed by a steady rotation of players, a game of musical chairs for the captaincy, and humiliating losses even at home.
