Suved Parkar smashes 252 on first-class debut

Suved Parkar hammered 252 on his Mumbai debut, while Sarfaraz Khan (153, 205b, 14×4, 4×6) and Armaan Jaffer (60, 133b, 7×4, 2×6) hit half-centuries as Mumbai drifted to 647/8 declared on day two of their Ranji Trophy quarterfinal against Uttarakhand at the Alur Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Mumbai player Suved Parkar became the 12th Indian batter to smash his First Class debut with a double hundred.

Suved Parkar, batting at No. 4, accomplished the achievement in the second session on Day 2, by driving left-arm spinner Swapnil Singh for a run to long-off. The 21-year-old accomplished the achievement of the 375th ball he confronted, having hit 17 fours and three sixes.

In the 166th over Suved was run-out by Chandela off Madhwal. A splendid knock came to an end and with that wicket Mumbai declared.

It is a happenstance that Amol Muzumdar, the other Mumbaikar to have posted a double hundred on debut, was driving the enormous praise for the young lad from the dressing room, being the head coach of the team.
