Andrew Symonds’ sudden passing followed overflowing of emotional tributes in the cricketing fraternity with many players, including his Australian teammates and global stars, expressing shock and incredulity at the grievous news.

Symonds, who was affectionately known as ‘Roy’, was 46.
A player, who could likewise bowl both medium speed and spin and a remarkable fielder, Symonds featured in 26 Tests, 198 ODIs and 14 T20Is in an effective career between 1998 and 2009.
