The BCCI medical team has isolated coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharath Arun, R. Sridhar, Fielding Coach and Nitin Patel, Physiotherapist, as a precautionary measure after Ravi Shastri’s lateral flow test returned positive last evening, said the BCCI media release.
They have all undergone RT-PCR testing and shall remain in the team hotel and not travel with Team India until confirmation from the medical team.
In that capacity, the two teams are perceived to have been in independent bio-secure conditions, and have just associated with one another in the center, during play.
Indian team individuals have needed to manage more than one Covid-19-related occurrence as of late, and this, truth be told, is the second time Arun has needed to go into segregation since arriving at England.
The first run through was in July when Bharath Arun, just as squad individuals Wriddhiman Saha and Abhimanyu Easwaran, had to isolate for ten days for being close contacts of net bowler Dayanand Garani, who tested positive for Covid-19 on July 14.
The remaining members of the Team India contingent underwent two Lateral Flow Tests – one last night and another this morning. The members upon returning negative COVID reports were allowed to proceed for Day 4 of the ongoing fourth Test at The Oval.
