Karnataka posted a total of 246 in the first innings against Uttarakhand. Captain B R Sharath (45) and teammate SJ Nikin Jose (19) had a decent opening partnership.
Kishan, a middle-order batter, was consistent in scoring runs. He yet again came up with some sterling performances with the willow by scoring 76 runs in the first innings.
Karnataka’s middle-order was excused by Himanshu Bisht. Followed by 36(29) by V Vyshak.
Uttarakhand scored 236 in their 1st innings with V Kashyap and Ajit Singh Rawat, respectively, scoring half-centuries. Meanwhile, the bowling was controlled by Rohit Kumar AV who picked a 5’fer along with Shubhang Hegde – the two equally distributed 10 wickets among themselves.
The Karnataka top-order was dismissed cheaply in the second innings, but yet again the one batter who stood out was Kishan S Bedare, who scored 72 (198) to post a total of 172.
What followed next in the last innings was for everyone to see. 21-year-old promising left-arm spinner from Karnataka, Shubhang Hegde wrecked havoc over the Uttarakhand team by picking up a 7-wicket-haul in the second innings and helping Karnataka cross the winning line.
Meanwhile, 19-year-old off-spinner Rohit Kumar AC rook three wickets with an economy of 3.19.
Figures of 31-70-5 with an economy of 2.26 in the first innings. Shubhang Hegde only excelled his figures by finishing with13-15-7 with an economy of 1.23 in the second innings.
