The Decision Review System (DRS) was not accessible for almost two overs toward the beginning of the IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings because of power failure at the Wankhede Stadium here on Thursday.
Because of a power cut at one of the floodlight towers, the DRS was not accessible for 1.4 overs toward the beginning of the Chennai Super Kings innings during which they lost three wickets.
Opener Devon Conway (0) and Robin Uthappa (1) were out LBW off the deliveries off Sams and Jasprit Bumrah and CSK couldn’t accept the review as DRS was not accessible.
Soon after Uthappa’s wicket, the DRS was accessible and the players were clearly told by the umpires about it.
One of the floodlight towers went off not long before the toss, which was postponed by two or three minutes.
Mumbai Indians won the toss and asked that CSK bat.
Meanwhile, fans on twitter lash out:
There is no DRS????? THIS IPL UMPIRING IS GOING WILD NOW.

No DRS available due to powercut. Dude are you serious about this league @BCCI?

Surely if DRS is unavailable for a part of one team's innings, you have to declare it unavailable for the rest of the game? Otherwise the playing conditions are unequal.

Match 59 No DRS. Suddenly . Shouldn’t there be a provision for an alternate in such a situation? Pathetic. That ball went to another planet all together #CSKvsMI

Can’t believe we are playing the best T20 league in the world and decision making is affected by power cut ?
