IPL 2025 Final Match Today: RCB vs PBKS Team Predicted Playing 11, Live Cricket Score Updates

The stage is set for a grand showdown at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) face off against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2025 Final today. With both sides eyeing their first-ever Indian Premier League title, the stakes could not be higher. As the cricketing world watches with bated breath, fans are guaranteed a new champion in the world’s most-watched T20 league.

This marks the fourth clash between RCB and PBKS this season. RCB hold a 2-1 advantage, having defeated PBKS convincingly in the league stage and again in Qualifier 1, while Punjab had taken a narrow win earlier in the group phase. Revenge will be high on the agenda for PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer, who will look to overcome the demons of the previous defeat. On the other hand, RCB skipper Rajat Patidar, who took charge mid-season and led from the front, will be keen to break the franchise’s title jinx and make history.

Qualifier 1 Recap: RCB Dominate PBKS

In their most recent meeting during Qualifier 1, RCB produced a clinical performance. The bowling attack, spearheaded by Mohammed Siraj and Lockie Ferguson, dismantled the PBKS batting unit, bowling them out for a below-par score. Chasing a modest total, RCB’s top order made easy work of the target, winning by 6 wickets with plenty of overs to spare.

That match exposed Punjab’s middle-order fragility and raised questions over their decision-making under pressure. While Iyer led the team admirably all season, the big-game nerves got the better of them in that encounter. With the final being a much bigger occasion, the Kings must ensure they learn from their mistakes.

PBKS’s Comeback vs Mumbai Indians: Iyer’s Heroics

Punjab’s route to the final, however, has been anything but easy. After the loss to RCB, they faced the five-time champions Mumbai Indians in a do-or-die encounter. Mumbai were cruising at one point, but a sudden collapse saw them falter under pressure. It was Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten 87, laced with elegant drives and timely sixes, that anchored the innings and pushed PBKS into their first-ever IPL final.

The innings was a reminder of Iyer’s class and temperament, and the team will once again rely on him in the final.  New Captain New Frachise

RCB’s Title Charge Led by Young Blood

RCB, long considered IPL’s underachievers, have finally found consistency in IPL 2025. After a turbulent start to their campaign, they clicked in the second half of the season. The emergence of Rajat Patidar as a leader, the brilliance of  and the steady hand of Virat Kohli have been instrumental in RCB’s journey to the final.

RCB have one of the most dynamic middle orders in the competition. However, there are concerns over the fitness of Tim David, who missed the last two games with a hamstring niggle.
