IPL-winning Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya has expressed that his only goal is to carry on his form and assist India with winning the T20 World Cup this year.
He lifted his fifth IPL trophy as GT whipped the Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.
When there is a gruff, there will unavoidably be peaks – and nobody would understand it better than Hardik Pandya. Fighting lean patches, injuries, reprimands from the national team, the 28-year-old has battled his direction back to the top and into the Indian team.
About his way forward, Pandya has his eyes set on the mega event in Australia this approaching October-November.
“It’s absolutely to win the World Cup for India, no matter what happens. I’m going to give everything what I have. I have always been that kind of a guy to put the team first. So for me, the goal will be simple to make sure that my team gets it most,” he said.
“It has been always a pleasure for me to represent the country and the kind of love and support I have got, it’s mainly from the Indian team point of view”
“So long term, short term, one goal is there – I want to win the World Cup, no matter what happens,” Hardik Pandya added.
Pandya will be back action when India take on South Africa in a five-match T20I series beginning June 9 in Delhi.
