In a women’s group affected by rain, India put on an outstanding performance to defeat Pakistan handily by eight wickets.

After deciding to bat, Pakistan was dismissed for 99 runs with Sneh Rana (2/15) and Radha Yadav (2/18) each getting two wickets after the rain forced the match to be shortened to 18 overs.

One wicket was taken by each of Renuka Singh (1/20), Meghna Singh (1/21), and Shafali Verma (1/8).

With a 30-ball 32, Pakistan’s opening player Muneeba Ali led the team in scoring.

India’s response saw them surpass the target in 11.4 overs with to Smriti Mandhana’s unbeaten 42-ball 63.

Brief scores: Pakistan women scored 99 runs off 18 overs (Muneeba Ali had 32; Sneh Rana had 2/15).

Women in India: 102 for 2.
