The Indian mixed 4X400m relay team won a bronze medal in the U-20 World Athletics Championships in Nairobi on Wednesday.
The Indian relay team of four of Bharat S, Priya Mohan, Summy and Kapil timed 3:20.60 seconds to complete third in the last. It is India’s fifth medal in the competition.
Subsequent to establishing a title standard in the heats earlier, Nigeria’s mixed 4x400m relay team crushed it again and took the title in 3:19.70. Poland won the silver medal with a timing of 3:19.80s.
India had entered the last as the subsequent best team by and large with a title record timing of 3:23.36s in the warm races held toward the beginning of the day.
The record was, nevertheless, fleeting as the competitors from Nigeria further developed it by completing their race in heat 2 with a planning of 3:21.66s.
Before Wednesday’s bronze in mixed 4x400m hand-off, India had won awards through Seema Antil bronze in plate toss, 2002, Navjeet Kaur Dhillon, Olympic boss Neeraj Chopra and Hima Das in world U-20 meet.
It is the first time the 4x400m Mixed Relay is a part of the U20 Athletics World Championships.
India has sent a 27-member team for the U20 World Athletics Championships, which is being held from August 18 to 22.
