IPL media rights value grows 2.5X in bidding on Day 1

At Rs 43,000 crore for television and digital rights, IPL media rights has expanded over 2.5 times during the first day of the e-auction.

As per sources following the IPL media rights e-auction, the bidding war was between Disney Star, Sony Pictures Networks India and Viacom18 for broadcast rights for the Indian subcontinent for all games. For digital rights, Zee was rivaling Disney+Hotstar and Reliance Jio.

Television rights per match is assessed to have contacted INR 57 crore and digital rights has arrived at IND 48 crore for every match.

Day 1:
Package A – 23,370 (57 crore per game)
Package B – 19,680 (48 crore per game)
Per match price until now is INR 104 crores.

Total: INR 43.050.

Day two will resume tomorrow at 11:00am IST.
