Goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani made three impressive saves as Hyderabad FC secured their maiden Indian Super League title after beating Kerala Blasters in penalty shoot-out.
Hyderabad beat Kerala 3-1 in the shoot-out after the match finished 1-1 in the full-time and additional time.
For Hyderabad, Joao Victor, Khassa Camara and Halicharan Narzary scored while just Ayush Adhikari found the goal in the shoot-out as Kerala languished heart-break over the third time in the finals.
It was Kattimani’s day as his heroics helped Kerala won in the shoot-out. He saved the spot kicks from Mark Leskovic, Nishu Kumar and Jeakson Singh.
When Narzary’s spot kick sent Kerala goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill the wrong way, the Hyderabad recovered and allies at the stands ejected with satisfaction while it was shock for the enthusiastic Kerala fans as fans got back to the stadium to watch an ISL match following two years.
Prior in the match, Rahul KP’s goal in the 68th minute put Kerala ahead, yet Sahil Tavora leveled for Sahil Tavora with a class volley in the 88th moment.
Kerala probably figured they would lift their maiden ISL title however Tavora broke their hearts as he hit with a stunning right-footed volley from the edge of the case with only two minutes left for the final whistle.After the difference in closes, Hyderabad began the front foot and had several possibilities with hardly a pause in between.
