Rafael Nadal has moved to ease worries about his injuries ahead of the French Open, posting an image of himself preparing in full stream at his institute in Mallorca with the caption: “See you on Wednesday, Paris.”
The 13-time Roland Garros champion had said last week that everyday preparation was a test and he would take a doctor with him to Paris after an ongoing foot injury erupted during his loss by Denis Shapovalov at the Italian Open.
Nadal, who recently made a comeback from a stress fracture in the ribs, battled towards the end of his match against the Canadian as he went down 1-6 7-5 6-2 in the last-16.
Although, the world number five looks ready to send off one more offered for a Grand Slam title at his #1 hunting ground, having won his 21st major at the Australian Open recently.
That win followed a troublesome 2021 during which he missed Wimbledon, the Tokyo Olympics and the U.S. Open.
Nadal will feature to regain the title in Paris after he experienced a semi-final loss last year against Novak Djokovic, just his third profession loss at Roland Garros.
