India convincingly defeated Pakistan, extending their lead to 8-0 in their ODI World Cup rivalry since 1992.

An impressive performance by the Indian bowlers restricted Pakistan to 191 all-out in 42.5 overs, with Jasprit Bumrah taking 2/19 in seven overs and Kuldeep Yadav picking up 2/35 in 10 overs.

Other Indian bowlers, including Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja, also claimed two wickets each.

India lost Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli early in the chase but recovered with Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer’s explosive batting. Rohit scored 86 runs off 63 balls, including six fours and six sixes, while Shreyas Iyer remained unbeaten with 53 runs off 62 balls.

India comfortably reached the 192-run target in 30.3 overs, taking the top spot on the points table with six points, ahead of New Zealand based on net run-rate, following three consecutive wins.

After this tournament loss, Pakistan holds four points from three games and is currently fourth in the points table. They will face Australia in Bengaluru.

Jasprit Bumrah, thanks to his brilliant spell, was named the Player of the Match. India’s next match is against Bangladesh at the MCA stadium in Pune on October 19th.
