WHEN DOES THE WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2023 START?

This year’s Women’s World Cup will be held from July 20 – August 20.

The tournament will begin with a Group A match between hosts New Zealand and Norway on July 20.

The World Cup will feature 32 teams and begin with a group stage, with teams divided into eight groups of four.

  • Hindmarsh Stadium (Adelaide, Australia): Officially named Coopers Stadium, it has a seating capacity of approximately 18,000 and is primarily used for football matches.
  • Melbourne Rectangular Stadium (Melbourne, Australia): Also known as AAMI Park, it is a modern stadium with a capacity of around 30,000 seats and is used for various sporting events.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE?

During the group stage of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, all 32 teams will participate in a round-robin format, playing three matches each. A win will earn a team three points, while a draw will result in one point. The final group stage match will be held on August 3.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the round of 16. The knockout rounds commence on August 5 and consist of one-off matches. In the event of a draw after regular time, matches can proceed to extra time and penalties to determine the victor.

WHEN IS THE FINAL?

The final will take place on Sunday, Aug. 20 at Stadium Australia in Sydney.
