Gujarat Titans won the Indian Premier League championship in their maiden season as they beat Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the final here on Sunday.
Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals were limited to 130/9 by the Gujarat bowlers at a jam-packed Narendra Modi Stadium.
The tournament’s top scorer, Jos Buttler, got out to Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya after scoring 39 off 35 balls.
Hardik bowled splendidly to get done with figures of 3/17 in his four overs, while Rashid Khan also had an astounding trip, taking 1/18 in his full share of overs.
In answer, Gujarat Titans lost two early wickets yet at last pursued down the goal of 131 with 11 balls in excess.
