One of the greatest footballers of Brazil, Neymar JR will miss his flight for India as he has sustained an injury during the FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uruguay.

The star footballer has a huge fan base in India, and everyone was looking ahead to see their Idol play in India. AL Hilal FC is set to play the league match of the AFC Champions League against Mumbai City FC at DY Patil stadium.

It was expected to draw a massive audience to the DY Patil stadium to see Neymar play in India but unfortunately due to injury, he will not play the game. His injury is quite serious and will take around nine months to fully recover.

While playing the game against Uruguay, Neymar sustained an injury on his anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus after that Players from both teams gathered around Neymar to check as he was spotted grabbing his left knee in pain. The incident occurred in the 44th minute of the game, which saw Brazil lose by 2-0 against Uruguay.

Later, Neymar’s injury was confirmed by Brazil’s Football Confederation following an MRI scan. The medical teams from both Brazil and Al Hilal FC are in constant touch with Neymar and are working to ensure his full recovery.

The star footballer’s significant injury poses a setback for Al Hilal, but the club continues to maintain an unbeaten record in the Saudi Pro League and leads their AFC Champions League group after two matches.
