Team India’s 54-member contingent for Tokyo Paralympics 2020

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics finished with the Indian contingent creating its best-ever execution, winning seven medals. After the Olympians, the Paralympians are preparing for a standout show in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics where an aggregate of 54 Indians will be taking part across nine games.

The Paralympics is set to start on August 24 and will go until September 5. India has arranged its greatest ever contingent for the Tokyo Games, with Devendra Jhajhariya being one of the greatest medal possibilities. The Tokyo Paralympics will likewise see India making its presentation at the Para-Games in badminton.

As the para-competitors plan to leave for Tokyo, here’s a gander at the Indian contingent:

At the send-off ceremony, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said, “India is sending it’s largest ever contingent to the Paralympic Games in Tokyo – 54 para-sportspersons across 9 sports disciplines. The passion of our Para-Athletes shows their phenomenal human spirit. Remember that when you play for India you will have a 130 crore Indians cheering for you!

“I am extremely confident that our para- athletes will give their optimum best! Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi had met our Rio 2016 Paralympic Games athletes and has always had a keen interest for the welfare of our athletes and focused the government’s approach on nurturing talent along with development of sports Infrastructure across the country. Here’s wishing them the very best,” he added.
