Thomas Mueller has broadened his contract until 2024 which will keep the Germany international at his childhood club until the age of 34, the Bundesliga champions announced on Wednesday.
Mueller, a result of Bayern’s childhood system, has been with the club since he was 10. He has scored 226 goals and brought home the Bundesliga championship for the eleventh time this season – a record for the German first class.
The 32-year-old has been an essential piece in the Bayern juggernaut that brought home their tenth back to back league championship this season, beating out everyone else with 17 helps while additionally scoring seven goals.
“You can’t imagine Thomas Mueller without FC Bayern – nor FC Bayern without Thomas Mueller. That’s why we’re very happy that Thomas has extended his contract until the summer (of) 2024.” Hasan Salihamidzic said.
“Thomas is a leader who’s hungry for success, and a role model on and off the pitch who embodies FC Bayern better than anyone.”
