India defeated Sri Lanka by 317 runs in the final one-day international in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, becoming the first team to ever win an ODI series.
Virat Kohli displayed his batting prowess, and Mohammed Siraj was outstanding with the ball.
India won the series 3-0 after taking the first game in Guwahati by 67 runs and the second game in Kolkata by four wickets.
In his 110-ball innings, Kohli smashed an unbeaten 166 while hitting 13 fours and 8 sixes. It was the former captain’s 46th ODI century, putting him just three behind Sachin Tendulkar for the most ODI hundreds in history.

“Today I was happy to be batting out there and in that space I end up playing good cricket. I am in a nice space right now, just (trying to) be organic,” said Kohli.
With his 116, India’s opener Shubman Gill also made a significant contribution as India finished their innings at 390-5 after deciding to bat first.
As India skittled Sri Lanka for 73 inside of 22 overs, seamer Siraj collected 4-32 and assisted in a run-out, while Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav each claimed two wickets.
