In pursuit of 179, Indian openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill wreaked havoc on the West Indies bowling attack. The duo showcased their dominance, compiling an imposing partnership of 165 runs for the first wicket.
The duo recorded joint second-highest partnership for India in the T20Is. Shubman Gill’s commendable knock of 77 off 63 came to an end when he was dismissed by Romario Shepherd in the 16th over. Jaiswal remained unbeaten stellar 84 runs, and a quick cameo by Tilak Verma aided India in comfortably chasing down the target in just 17 overs.
